Living by the rules is too mainstream. So let’s break the rules. It’s nothing to worry about because the rules we’re about to break were made by our grannies years ago.
1. Focus on Eyes or Lips – Not Both
Busted. There are so many women – both in the magazines and just out on the streets- proving exactly the opposite. Bold eye and lips work wonders! Just combine the shades properly.
2. Always Match Lipstick to Nail Polish
To the belt, bag, shoes and accessories, too. Come on, isn’t that a bit too much. We are individuals, we have style and uniforms simply do not fit. That matchy-matchy look is over, guys! Makeup shades should be complementary, but not identical! No-no-no!
3.Never Let Your Roots Show
It was almost a law, years ago. Calm down, fashion police! Today roots are trendy and sexy – ask Jennifer Aniston and all proud ombre-owners.
4. Don`t tweeze above Your Eyebrows
Or what? Of course the main tweezing is below the eyebrow, but sometimes there are random stray hairs over it – simply tweeze them! They are annoying and could ruin the whole eyebrow look!
5.Your Eyebrows Should Always Be Perfectly Manicured
Probably the Frida Khalo look is a bit too much, but thin eyebrows, which give your face an expression of constant surprise are now in the past. The bold eyebrows are back in the game, but don’t forget that grooming is still important!
6.Only Wear Either “Warm” or “Cold” Tones, According to The Skin Type
Your skin complexion is important when you choose a concealer or foundation, but when it comes to mascara or eye shadows – feel free to play around with colours.
7.Don’t Wear Mascara or Eyeliner on Bottom Lashes
Some people believe that dark mascara or eyeliner on the bottom lashes age the face, but unless you have unusually small or very deep-set eyes, this is completely wrong. Simply match the colours and you are done.
8.No Red Lips for Red Heads
One more outdated fashion rule. If you are a cute ginger, don`t obey it without even trying red lipstick. All you need to consider is your skin tone. Emma Stone looks gorgeous, so could you. Warning: Never match your lips, to your hair colour- it is usually a disaster.
9.Always Layer Your Perfume
Complete beauty sets are awesome, however if you use all of the products at once, the result might not be satisfactory. By using the shower gel, body lotion and the perfume itself fragrance won`t last for longer, it will only make the scent more subtle.
10.Fair-Haired Women Should Wear Brown Mascara
Mascara is used to darken and emphasize lashes, and the truth is that black mascara does it better than the brown one and the hair colour does not matter. What’s more is that many blondes have naturally dark lashes, so black mascara is the perfect choice.
