8 Places You Have to Visit Around The World

0

Travelling is one of those things that you don’t earn money from, but it stocks your mind with knowledge and experience which is far more important than the material aspect. That’s why for me travelling is an essential part of my life and I try to visit as many new places as I can in a year, either alone or with my family (travelling alone sometimes can be a more valuable experience than travelling with other people because this way you can get to know yourself a little bit better). I have travelled a lot around Europe and now I want to pay a visit to Asia, mainly wanting to go to China and sink into one of the oldest and richest Asian cultures.

But enough about my dreams and plans! Now, I want to give something to you. An inspiration and advice on where to go next to go the most of your traveler’s experience. Here are my Top  places to visit around the world:

1. Taipei, Taiwan

Of course, I start with an Asian destination and more specifically, the capital of a state in the Republic of Chine – Taipei in Taiwan. Taipei, with its population of more than 2 million and a half people, is one the most beautiful Asian cities with a lot to do once you arrive there. You can go hiking, sightseeing, food tasting and, of course, shopping! Taipei is a relatively cheap city if you compare it with other Asian cities (especially in Japan) and it’s a very tourist-friendly area with a decreasing theft range, comparing it with other areas in Taiwan. The National Palace Museum, Liberty Square and National Taiwan Museum are only a few of the many museums and public places you could visit in Taipei.

2. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Everybody has heard of Brazil and everyone wants to go there. Brazilian culture is famous worldwide and Brazilians are mostly famous for the love of carnivals and football. Rio de Janeiro is flooded with tourist all the time and maybe that’s why it’s pretty pricey compared to other parts of Brazil. Tourism is highly developed and there are many things you can do in the city of Ronaldo and Paolo Coelho – visit the Christ the Redeemer statue, go hiking, sightseeing, visit the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema and the Maracana Stadium – the second largest stadium in the world. Important cultural landmarks are Rio de Janeiro Botanical garden, Theatro Municipal, National Museum of Fine arts and the National History museum.

3. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

A place, called “Las Vegas of Asia” many times before. A place where you will experience a clash of Asian culture and Western influence, where you will get to bargain for different goods as you would in many other Asian cities, but at the same time stay in luxurious hotels and attend VIP events that you can see only in places like Las Vegas or Monte Carlo. Try the food and the local arts and crafts markets as long with the National Zoo, the Petronas Twin Towers and the Menara Tower. It’s not that cheap, but as I said, you can bargain almost everything – from hotel rooms to different authentic arts and crafts made by the locals.

4. Melbourne, Australia

If you are a travel junkie, you should definitely visit Australia! It’s considered a very safe country for travelers so no matter if you go alone or with company, you would feel safe during the whole trip. Australia is not the cheapest country for a foreigner, but most of the daily needs like shelter and food don’t cost too much. Melbourne has a very rich culture and you won’t get bored there! Go swimming, check the local cuisine, visit the galleries and the Zoo. And don’t forget that Melbourne is famous for its street art so don’t forget to check it while you explore the city on a bike or by walking.

5. Nairobi, Kenya

Nairobi is an unusual travel destination for most people, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not worth the visiting. It’s a city full of adventures where you won’t have a single minutes not doing anything! Definitely go on a safari and go check the Rift Valley. Try the local cuisine and the locally grown coffee (you will appreciate it if you’re a coffee lover like me) and get in touch with the locals as much as you can – se sure to absorb the culture like a sponge because you don’t get to go to Africa that often. The prices are really low (an average hotel charges around 10 dollars a night!) which is kind of normal in most parts of Africa but it’s not really safe for tourists. Unless you have local friends that you can trust, avoid going out alone at night.

6. New York, USA

I can’t write about travelling and not say something about New York! The Big Apple, the Center of the world or just New York is one of the most famous places on Earth. Featured in hundreds of movies, TV series and books, New York is a traveler’s dream for centuries and it won’t stop now. It is a center of fashion, culture, cuisine and art and you surely will get lost in its vibe the moment you go to Times Square and look at all the lights (and people!) that surround every second. The most expensive part is finding where to sleep, but food and transportation and average priced. Of course, traveling by taxi and eating at 5-star restaurants will cost you hundreds of dollars a night, but if you want to explore NY like a New Yorker, you will use the subway and go to small local restaurants that serve typical dishes every NY citizen eats. As I said, visit Times Square, The Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Central Park and the many other cultural and historical monuments New York offers.

7. Zurich, Switzerland

Zurich – the jewel of Switzerland and Europe. One of the most expensive cities in the world , situated near Lake Zurich and the Alps, Zurich is the largest city and capital of Switzerland with almost 2 million people (Switzerland has a population of only 8 million people, but that doesn’t stop her from being the most expensive country to live in the world!).  It has an amazing landscape and no matter if it’s a world financial center, the building have all preserved their authentic Switzerland feel. As I said, it’s really expensive, but if you can afford it, visit Lake Zurich and definitely go to the Alps an, of course, try the local chocolate!

8. Republic of Fiji

If you have ever searched the Internet for a desktop wallpaper of palms of beaches, you have most certainly came across at least one photo of Fiji. The island is situated near Australia in the South West Pacific and is a favorite destination spot for many celebrities and overall rich people. It’s not that pricey, though, which makes it a perfect vacation choice for people with average income. The local culture in extraordinary so be sure to explore it as you would the Fiji beaches. Again, try the local cuisine, talk with the natives (the local languages are English and Fiji Hindi) and walk around the Botanical Gardens or the Forest Park. Don’t go hiking alone, especially at night, because a foreigner can easily get lost in the Fiji forests.
