Mistake 1: Picking your pimples. Backing away from the mirror might be a bit easier when you realize that squeezing your pimple can not only spread infection, but irritation afterwards can also cause more redness. Also a picked-at area is often much harder to hide with makeup than a blemish you’ve left alone.
Mistake 2: Forgetting to Moisturize. By applying moisturizers within minutes of getting out of a shower, you can combat everything from dry skin to more serious skin conditions like eczema and dermatitis.
Mistake 3: Not removing your makeup before bedtime. Cleaning off your makeup before bed removes products that can clog pores, removes dirt and pollutants from your skin and then allows you to have a clean slate to apply your nightly skincare.
Mistake 4: Not Putting On Sunscreen. Dermatologists recommend that you use sunscreen every day to combat the many ways the sun can hurt your skin. Recently, researchers in Australia found that those who wore sunscreen on a daily basis aged less than those that applied sporadically.
Mistake 5: Using harsh scrubs. Of course it’s very important to exfoliate your skin a couple of times a week, but don’t scrub and scratch your face with harsh facial scrubs. This can cause all kinds of problems like broken capillaries, irritation and small breaks in the skin that are then open to bacteria causing acne.
We all want flawless, beautiful skin. But what we do, or do not do, in our daily skincare regimes can pose negative effects on the skin. So try to follow those simple rules and you will get better and healthier skin.
