There are plenty of products for hair… Shampoos, hair balms, crystals, a wide variety of sprays just to name a few… And all suitable for a certain hair type.
They all promise thick, silky and healthy hai, but what the evil hair products manufacturers do not want you to know is the fact that there are foods which will strengthen your hair naturally.
There are generally six foods which will quickly fulfill your expectations for glamorous hair.
1. Crab/Lobster
Did you know this tasty dish contains vitamin B12which prevents anemia and fatigues and improves your hair’s health? Now you know – use it and you might end up in a shampoo ad! It is good to know that there are many other foods such as clams, oysters, cheese and lamb which do the same trick.
2.Beans
Kidney beans and lentils are important for a healthy well-balanced diet as they are full of proteins and minerals such as zinc, iron and biotin. These are all things which will literally empower your hair. Without these, your hair is susceptible to breakage and an overall dull appearance.
3.Leafy Greens
As they are featured in every diet/health related article it is not a big surprise to see them here too. However the truth is they really should be a constant ingredient of your menu. The vitamins and minerals contained in spinach, broccoli and lettuce are capable of preventing hair loss and/or damage. Do not underestimate the power of the greens!
4.Coconut oil
We like coconut oil because it is very handy – you can use it directly on your hair and it will make it soft and silky, or incorporate it into the food or even directly on your skin to moisturise. As you can see, it is a multi-purpose oil and if you don’t have a jar at home, definitely go get some!
5. Eggs
Eggs contain vitamins and minerals such as vitamin D and vitamin B12 which are all necessary for your overall health. They also contain sulfur, which stimulates hair growth and improves you skin and nails condition. It’s good to know that vitamin D is hard to find in many foods so supplements might be a good idea in this case (and of course more sunbathing).
6.Alkaline Water
Well, this is not exactly a food but drinking a lot of alkaline water actually helps your hair. Very often symptoms such as hair loss or oily hair indicate liver or blood health problems. If you drink enough alkaline water, it will make the blood more slippery and liberate the sebum – oily secretion, which can cause hair loss.
