Viviana Volpicella, Marta Ferri and Cecilia Bringheli are all getting together to give us a melting pot of shoes and gorgeous look-changers for the winter/holiday season. They are designing flats – as unglam as that may seem. But trust me… Anything coming out of these girls is glam.
“If you want to be considered chic in Milan you might opt for black and white or perhaps midnight blue,” says Volpicella. “In my mind if you want to be stylish, you should add some color,” she says, running around town on a rainy day in a red pair of – red slippers.
“I thought, why don’t I create a slipper that resembles a pair of stacked bracelets? They have a Brazilian edge.” And what a good idea, it’s basically a spot summer on your feet.
Marta Ferri on the other hand is planning a trip to Rajasthan for New Years and has packed herself a nice pair of Birkenstocks which she thinks will go well with the nature of her trip. She’s added a gold buckle and metallic leather piping for romance – nice one Marta!
Bringheli on the other hand has just got back frm Umbria and is talking about her latest collection for her nameskae label C.B. Made in Italy. She’s got all sorts of new items on the list – leather agendas, belts, bags – I mean all sorts – and all ready to launch next year.
“A mutual friend, Robert Rabensteiner, introduced me to Waris Ahluwalia,” and it went from there, she says. Milanese Chic at it’s best. Clients include Jay Jopling and Hikaki Yokoyama – all in line to get a set of stylish, rich, soft calfskin and natty herringbone shoes only available at the Hosue of Waris RARE in Venice’s Gritti Palace hotel.
Rock on Italianos! Love ya’s
