It’s almost the end of August and I’m starting to fill with joy because my favorite season, fall, is coming! I love the subtle fall wind, the smell of pumpkins in the air and the color palette that comes with the end of summer. Most of all I like how our makeup choices change with every season – in spring we start adding more color to our makeup, in summer we are all about the bright and fun shades and in the fall – well, in the fall we choose the more neutral colors that complement every eye color and skin tone; that go well with the color palette outside and can be very versatile if they have to.
That’s why how I want to share with you a makeup look that I personally really like and wear not only in this season, but every time I want a more classic and timeless look without going too dark and heavy. This is the everyday neutral makeup look. The look is more appropriate for the daytime, but you can always choose darker shades of the colors you will use and make it perfect for the nighttime. When you pair it with a dark matte burgundy lipstick you will most likely become the human equivalent of fall, which I personally really like.
You will need only 3 eyeshadows for this look and all will be neutrals – creams, beiges and browns.
The first thing you have to do is to find a neutral eye shadow palette or one with many neutral colors. The three colors we will use are light cream, medium brown (with shimmer) and dark brown. You can add a highlighter, too, if you want your eyes to look brighter. As I said, choose the shades depending on the look you want to get (day or night) and even add some dark gray in the crease if you want a really dark look.
First, apply the light cream all over your lid up to your brow (step 1). Then, place the medium brown on your outer corner and bring it pretty far onto your lid (step 2). The last step is to blend the dark brown into your crease (step 3). Add highlighter on your brow bone, some eyeliner and mascara and your neutral everyday makeup look is ready!
