Growing long, strong and healthy nails may be difficult but not impossible. If you are unable to keep your manicure in its unblemished shape and you want to change your short, stubby and fragile
fingernails, you have to know some basic tricks.
Tip 1: Stop biting your nails. Nail biting is a bad habit that can cause permanent damage to your nails.
If you cannot deal with this ugly habit on your own, use an anti-nail biting cream or polish on your fingernails.
Tip 2: Take care of your nails. Wash your hands regularly to prevent dirt under your nails. You can rub some lotion or cream around your nails. Cut your fingernails while they are soft and try to keep them
even. Use a nail file only in one direction to trim your nails. In order to prevent nail breakage, make sure to file in the same direction.
Tip 3: Never push back dry cuticles. Use a softening cream or cuticle oil to make them more pliable.
Tip 4: If you want to grow long and healthy nails, it is very important to apply top coat of nail polish for extra protection.
Tip 5: Remove your nail polish gently. Avoid using a polish remover with acetone in it since it usually removes a lot of natural oils from your skin, leaving your nails dry and harsh.
