There is nothing better than a cold dring in a hot summer day. And while Coke and other fizzy beverages are tasty, they’re not that healthy and only make us more thirsty. That’s why I want to share with you a more delicious, healthy and refreshing drink – the natural flavored water! This homemade recipe is not full of any chemicals that are usually put in store-bought drinks, doesn’t need sugar and is made entirely to suit your taste. To make it you’ll need:
- fruits of your choice (frozen or fresh, it’s up to you)
- herbs (it’s optional but they copliment the flavor of the fruits very well)
- meddler or wooden spoon to mash the herbs and fruits
I will share with you the ingredients for 5 different flavored drinks but the making of all of them is the same – slice the fruit, add to jar and mash with muddler/spoon (just enough to release some juices), add herbs, fill with ice, add water, stir the mixture and put in the refrigirator for several hours. You can drink it right away, but leaving them to set for a couple of hours will make the taste stronger.
All citrus flavored water – 1 orange, 1 lime and 1 lemon
Raspberry lime – 2 limes and generous amount of raspberry
Watermellon rosemary – rosemary leaves and watermelon
Blackberry sage – sage leaves and blackberry
Pineapple mint – mint leaves and pineapple
* The quantities of the fruit depend on how big your jars are and, of course, on your own taste.
