The birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s son made many people send congratulatory messages.
At 16:24 BST on Monday, Prince William announced that the boy weighed 8lb 6oz and had no name yet.
The Duke was in the hospital when Catherine gave birth to their son and later spent the whole night with them.
Before the couple leaves the hospital they will have to talk to their medical team. Meanwhile, royal watchers and tourists are waiting on long queues in front of the BuckinghamPalace in order to see the bulletin announcing news of the birth.
This bulleting is going to be taken inside only 24 hours after it was shown.
Bookmakers and people whole over the world now expect to hear the names of the newborn.
A statement came from the KensingtonPalace after which all the members of the Royal Family were “delighted”.
The Duchess of Cornwall said that this was an important moment for British citizens and also that both the mother and her baby were “doing well”.
During a walk well-wishers congratulated the prince and he told them he was very excited about what has happened.
“Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone’s life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future,” said the prince in a statement on Monday night.
With this newborn son the monarchy does already have three generations of heirs to the throne for the first time since 1894.
