You can use old sweaters, zippers, newspapers, scarves and a variety of other things to create your own DIY bracelets. Here’s a few ideas:
1. A bracelet made of safety pins
You will need a fair amount of safety pins and a shiny beads to get this one right. Decorate the safety pins with the beads and use pliers to press down the safety pin and secure it until it’s properly closed. When you are done with all the pins, thread them onto an elastic band, alternating their direction. When the band is long enough, tie it well and thread another band through the holes on the other side.
2. A bracelet made of zippers
We have shown you some very good zipper bracelet designs. Truth be told, they can be great accessories. For this one, you’ll need a broken zipper, some thread (preferably the same colour as the zipper), a needle, scissors and a meter. Measure the diameter of your palm and roll half of the zipper on a spiral with the same diameter. Sew after each spiral’s turn. Do the same with the other part of the zipper and sew both parts together. Another idea is to open the zipper and sew a piece of textile between the teeth.
3.Boutique Bracelet made of whatever you have
The base of this lovely bracelet could be a simple rough rope. You can use your imagination and make wonderful, artistic bracelets using embroidery, beads, threads and other textiles – just trust your creativity.
4. Cool Bracelet, made of an ordinary B=bracelet
If you have some old bracelets you think you will not wear, consider these ideas and you will be enchanted by the new-old bracelets.
You can use a technique called decoupage (newspapers, napkins, wrapping paper and more) or simply sew a piece of old sweater around the bracelet itself.
