Steve Irwin was a legend and taught us all types of things about animals in an exciting yet educational way
His non-fear was exhilarating to watch but devastation brought upon us when we heard of his death.
Steve was known to wrestle tigers, swim with crocodiles, roll around with wild bears and seemed ironic for the star to lose his life to a Stingray.
Steve lost his life whilst in Queensland, Austrailia in 2006 when the crocodile hunter was killed by a stringray who punctured him ‘hundreds of times’ including a “blow that punctured his heart” stating the words “im dying”.
His close friend and camera man, Justin Lyons, witnessed the whole incident (as they cruised off the coast of Queensland to find something to film for their new documentary) and has come out to discuss his last moments with Steve.
In a recent interview, Justin commented:
‘All of a sudden it propped on its front and started stabbing wildly with its tail, hundreds of strikes in a few seconds,’ He said the stingray probably thought Steve Irwin’s shadow was a tiger shark and acted to defend itself.
