A lot of the fairy tales we’ve grown with have this little detail that makes them click, that makes them work and relate… One of these items is the shoe. Every woman knows that shoes are a must and not only – they keep the feet safe, extend the legs and add charm to the general looks.
Cinderella is a great example of a shoe that makes a difference in the world of fairytales. Her glass slipper is what makes the story so believable – it is the only thing that stays after the magic is broken and also the little item that bring her and her prince together. Dorothy from the World of Oz is also someone whose shoes, red in colour, bring her home and to where her heart wants when she claps the heels together.
What about more rough shoes such as boots? Don’t worry, adventurers, there is always Puss in Boots. The great tale of a quest for honour and appreciation where boots are what matter and not some silly uncomfortably hard and heavy glass slippers!
Authors don’t put the shoe as a key element in their masterpieces without a reason. It is a link between reality and fiction. There are many other stories that fall into the shoe-related list… can you name a few?
