You’ll be surprised how many things can irritates your skin, and as they makes it feel uncomfortable it will start to damage and look unhealthy and BE unhealthy, which is the worst of all. We have to take care of our skin and that includes not only the recovering from damages, but also a protection from them. We have to prevent future imperfections, acne problem and enlarged pores. All these doesn’t sound so good, does they?
You will be surprised how these things can damage your skin. Take a look:
Too much chlorine. The chlorine can cling to your skin and react with topical medications, cleansers and even body lotions. To effectively remove chlorine, always use an extra sudsy soap. Or pay attention to the packages instructions and what the product contains to be sure that you won’t damage your skin dramatically.
Sleeping with your makeup on. Sometimes you are too tired to remove your makeup before bed, but if you don’t you can destroy your skin. Sleeping with makeup can lead to bacterial infections and clogged pores, which leads to acne and enlarged pores. No matter how tired you are, removing makeup before bed time is a MUST-DO activity. Make it a habit and you won’t have any problems with the dirty, unhealthy skin.
Long, hot showers. Sometimes it is nice to take a long and warm shower, but the hot water is not so good for the skin. Your pores are widely open after the steam, the skin is red and itchy and will get dry. Be careful with the time you spend under the hot shower. Try to rotate hot shower with cold shower. Do it 3-4 times during the shower time and you’ll see how your skin will get smoother and tighter after several hot-cold shower procedures.
The plastic on your dry-cleaned clothes. The clothes need to breathe, so when you get home after you picked them up from the dry-cleaner you should get them out of the plastic bags immediately. The longer they stay in, the more skin-harming chemicals absorb into the fabric. And these chemicals easily can transfer to your skin while you are wearing your favorite clothes.
Exfoliating too often. If you over-exfoliate your skin you can remove its natural oils and glow. And these oils are highly important for the health of the skin. Otherwise, it will get dry and stressed by the less oils. Exfoliate your skin just once a week and everything will be O.K.
Talking on the phone. If you have to be many hours on the phone be sure that it’s clean, because you can get rashes along your jawline and cheek. Keep antibacterial wipes with you and clean your phone and your skin. You will be surprised how dirty your phone is. That’s because you are touching it after you touched practically everything. If your job requires many hours talking on the phone you should use headphones or phone-Bluetooth attachment.
